…it liiiiives! can’t wait for Blackberry 10.
i didn’t think i could fall harder for my blackberry torch, but it seems it has other hidden qualities that i would probably never have discovered if not for this entertaining review from an equally impressed new user…
i love this phone it really gives me a thrill. one time while mountain biking in honduras it fell approximately one hundred feet from a cliff side. when i rode the slopes down i found that my phone was actually in the same shape as before. i dont know if you guys use a poly eurathane screen but it is quite resistant to scratches from wild grizzlys
newest offering for at&t – blackberry torch.

ha – take that!
i won’t let a silly storm temporarily severing my electricity stop me. especially when i have to pay for a class online by midnight…! might i remind you: no power = no wireless internet, no router, no cell phone charger, no a/c, and of course, no lights. finding myself stuck at home in the dark, alone with nothing but a blackberry whose battery was dangerously in the red, i resolved to journey to panera bread, a place of free re-fill coffee, free wireless internet, and sockets to charge my phone. alas, when i went to manually lift the garage door, it failed to catch and lock, as it should (manufacturer, i shake my fist at you). sweaty and with my hands covered in black garage door gear gunk, i sat down to ponder my options. eureka!
i grabbed a ladder from the back of the garage, and set it up next to the garage door. i lifted the garage door with my right hand, then grabbed the ladder with my left, opened it, and with my left foot, maneuvered it into position under the door. voila – it held. now the tricky part… the ladder was only so tall; would my car clear the barely-more-than-half cracked garage door? well, only one way to find out.
the more observant reader might have already realized that i succeeded, because i’m typing this. i did indeed make it to panera, where i was able to pay my balance and charge my blackberry.
all has been set right again.
ahem – blackberry rules! although, not so much when it comes to picture taking.
in any case, i had some photos i wanted to share, but they weren’t worthy of my Flickr page. so, here they are.
guilty pleasure alert!
as most of my friends know, i am a tech whore. i used to switch cell phones every 6 months, just to have the most up-to-date technology. i actively use both my Toshiba laptops, and currently own and actively use six cameras, as well as a separate video camera. i also own and use both my iPods, and my Zune. i also just inherited my dad’s never-used digital video recorder. i must admit, i love gadgets.
i traded up from my Nokia E61i to my current Blackberry 8310 Curve. oh, what a match made in heaven. i haven’t had the desire to trade for about a year now…except maybe to another Blackberry.
i have decided to share two of my guilty tech/geek pleasures with you:
the former has been my longtime adviser for the newest, most reliable, and most user-friendly phones on the world market; they have the best reviews i’ve ever seen. (one of my pet-peeves are people who have the most capable piece of man-made-ry in their pockets, and don’t know about much less use most the apps/functions. my god, read a review or pull up some specs.)
the latter is a just-for-fun site of pictures of famous faces and their Blackberry phones. i find the captions pretty entertaining, but i suppose it’s fair to warn non-BB users that they might not “get it”.
enjoy & fall in love.
